The Software Architect will be fully responsible for translating our Product Roadmap into a coherent web-based software system. Results will include designing and developing software applications, developing technical solutions from business requirements, architecting new feature development, integrating all development efforts into a functioning system, and meeting release deadlines. Duties will include determining the technical specifications of projects, creating technical blueprints, and guiding the product development teams to achieve business goals.

The successful Software Architect will report directly to the Director of Products and Services.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Provide Technical Leadership as the Head of Engineering of a startup suite of software products and services
Empower, train, and mentor development teams and oversee development of new product features
Ensure software can achieve business goals by converting all the business requirements from Product Owners into technical requirements, and translating all the functional requirements into logical, component-based technical designs.
Responsible for creating initial and high-end architectural design of the software product, ensuring the feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing system/platform.
Responsible for the technical solutions and compliance to development standards (participate in technology choices and propose architecture solutions).
Establish company-wide guidelines, best practise, usage patterns, and development paradigms.
Evaluate and prototype new technologies and drive innovation.
Evangelize architectural vision and work with technology teams to implement effective solutions
Ensure database integrity and security.
Documentation of every aspect of an application or software
Work closely with PD/CEO on system design and strategies.
Troubleshoot any incident issues as needed.
Lead “SWAT Team” of developers on R&D initiatives, like new feature and innovation development

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Bachelor degree or above in computer science or related field
Minimum 2 – 5 years of working experience as a Software Architect, or similar.
3+ years of engineering leadership experience including leading teams in web product development
Expert in application of Agile development methodologies
Deep understanding of web product development, standard and emerging technologies, and best practices.
Experience with development frameworks, environments, object oriented design & analysis, and technologies such as: HTML, PHP, Laravel, MySQL, MongoDB, WordPress.
Experience in continuous integration, especially in CI/CD design and implementation.
Design documentation experience including applying UML in the design process.
Experience in cloud solution development with AWS
Experience in building data analytics platforms is a plus
Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization.
